What riding holiday would suit you best?

With so many riding holidays available in destinations across the world, it can be tricky to find the right ride for you and your travel style.

So we’ve curated a list of rides for each type of rider / traveller to help narrow it down for you. And of course, if you ever need help deciding, reach out to us and we’re more than happy to walk things through with you.

For adventurous riders:

Kyrgyzstan is the perfect escape for adventurous riders who want to ride off grid and experience a glimpse into remote and nomadic living.

It can be a genuinely restorative experience to learn to live off the land around you and become one with the horse beneath you. Kyrgyz nomads have lived remotely for centuries and learnt to trust their ways of life and the horses they rely on to traverse the mountainous landscapes

This Wild Kyrgyzstan tour is deeply rooted in the Kyrgyz culture and horsemanship. It allows you to learn from the local nomads by experiencing their way of life, eating their food and hearing stories that have been passed down from generation to generation.

By day you’ll learn to trust your horse as you travel over mountains and canyons and ride through luscious green valleys. At night, you’ll sleep under the stars in remote tent and Yurt camps.

if you want a short break:

Discover the quiet magic of Castilla y León on horseback, where Segovia’s rolling countryside unfolds into pine forests, wide open valleys and storybook medieval towns. This three-day escape threads together exhilarating riding, timeless landscapes and the flavours and traditions that make Spain feel so impossibly vibrant.

You’ll be paired with a delightful Andalusian or Hispano-Arab — beautifully trained, responsive and eager to cover ground. Expect a lively pace, with long, liberating canters across open plains and a fresh rhythm each day as you ride through woodlands, ridgelines and tucked-away farmlands.

This is a journey that feels delightfully wild yet deeply rooted in history — following ancient bridle paths once travelled by shepherds, nobles and horsemen long before us. Whether you’re chasing sunshine, culture, adventure or a few soulful days outdoors, this three-day trail blends freedom, food and discovery in exactly the right measures. Find out more here.

if you want short riding hours:

The Loire Valley’s châteaux are grand, carefully preserved estates with intricate stonework, sweeping staircases and beautifully manicured gardens. Riding between them feels like moving through centuries of French history, each château revealing its own character and charm.

What makes this ride special is that not only do you experience French châteaux on horseback, but you get 6 guided visits around the most iconic and spend your nights sleeping within them and equally impressive manor houses & mansions.

French hospitality is some of the finest in the world and this ride features no exception. Not only do you get to sleep in magnificent accommodation, you’ll be served gourmet meals everyday and get the chance to ride one horse in an incredible herd of Franches-Montagnes, many born at home.

This journey blends refined French hospitality with truly memorable hours in the saddle — a riding holiday designed for those who love culture, comfort and exceptional horses in equal measure. Find out more.

if you want long riding hours:

Iceland is the country everyone must ride in at least once. It’s also perfect for your first riding holiday if you haven’t been on one before. There is nothing like experiencing your Icelandic horse tolt for the first time, riding through lava fields and rivers with no one around for miles.

Depending on the trip you choose, Iceland has so much to offer in terms of landscapes and views. With the option to ride through volcanic plains and valleys, along beaches, and over multi-coloured mountains, there’s no shortage of incredible scenery and long hours in the saddle.

Arguably one of the best things about riding in Iceland is the opportunity to ride with loose horses. Nothing beats galloping across the Icelandic highlands surrounded by loose horses. It’s something everyone has to experience.

We offer 3 Iceland itineraries, with the Landmannalaugar adventure being our favourite, the Magical Snaefellsnes escape the best all rounder and the Longufjorur beach ride best for those who only have a few days to get away.

for thrill seekers:

Namibia is the epitome of a wild and exhilarating holiday for experienced, thrill seeking riders. It’s an incredible place to visit with its everchanging landscapes and charismatic wildlife and it isn’t one to miss if you’re a fit and experienced rider who loves adventure and welcomes challenge.

The Skeleton Coast itinerary takes you through otherworldly terrain and along the coast with the roar of the Atlantic beside you. On calm, forward going and incredibly fit horses, you’ll cover up to 50km a day, galloping across seemingly never ending desert landscapes that could be mistaken for Mars.

Guided by experts who know the desert like the back of their hand, you’ll spend your days exploring the vast landscapes the Skeleton Coast has to offer and your nights sleeping beneath the stars.

a uk getaway:

This Border to Coast ride is a true cross-country adventure, taking you from one side of Wales to the other as you ride through rolling green fields, follow quiet ancient bridleways and eventually reach the beautiful Welsh coastline.

Without a support vehicle on this ride, you’ll carry your belongings in saddle bags, travelling as riders once did and experiencing what it’s like to move across a landscape with only what your horse can carry. It’s a wonderfully freeing way to travel, creating a real sense of journey and connection with the land around you.

Along the way you’ll stay in welcoming local inns and charming bed and breakfasts, where you’ll have the chance to experience warm Welsh hospitality and enjoy hearty home-cooked meals after a day in the saddle.

Wales is a country with a rich history, a strong sense of identity and a living language that remains central to everyday life. As you ride through historic landscapes and pass through small towns and villages, you’ll gain a real sense of the culture and traditions that make this country so special (I may be biased being half Welsh).
