ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Do i need to be an experienced rider?

Yes, all of our current rides require you to be an experienced rider at the top end of the intermediate bracket at least. If you need help grading your ability, you can read our blog post about that here or feel free to contact us via our form here and our team will help you out.

  • How do i book and pay for my riding trip?

To book onto one of our riding escapes, you need to submit a rider application form which will be linked on the specific trip page. Once we receive your form, we will check with the operator that they have space for you on that trip and get back to you soon after. Depending on the ride, you’ll either pay your deposit to us or the operator and then pay the full balance 45-90 days before departure.

  • Can I go on one of your trips solo?

Of course! Our current trips are incredibly solo friendly and you will often meet other people travelling solo too. We only list rides that have very friendly and welcoming guides who are more than happy to have solo riders and create a safe and positive environment for them.

  • What do I need to bring on my riding trip?

We have a brief packing list on the page of each individual ride so make sure to look over that. We will also send you a more detailed and confirmed packing list once you’ve paid your deposit and confirmed your booking. You can also take a look at our page that has an example packing list here.

  • Do I need to have travel insurance and wear a riding helmet?

Yes we require all of our riders to have travel insurance when riding with Wild Mane. This is completely for your benefit, the last thing you want to happen is to injure yourself and not be covered for any medical treatment meaning you’ll need to pay out of pocket and as we all know, horse riding can be a dangerous sport. Make sure to book insurance that covers you for horse riding accidents. It may also be a good idea to buy a policy that covers you for cancellations too. We also very highly suggest that you wear a hat when you ride with us. It seems to be a trend to ride without one to get the perfect instagram picture but helmets are for your safety and some insurance policies may require you to wear one for your insurance to be valid.

  • Can I bring a non rider with me on my trip?

Our current rides do not offer the option for a non rider to tag along. Our rides take you through remote places and there is not always a support vehicle following with space inside. If we list any future rides that allow non riders to join and have activities to keep them entertained, we will make sure to specify that on the ride page and share new updates via our email list.
