OUR WILD RIDE OF THE MONTH
Explore the Loire Valley on horseback, riding through one of France’s most beautiful and historic regions. Each day brings a mix of exciting hours in the saddle, open countryside, woodland paths and quiet country lanes, with plenty of opportunities for forward-going riding along the way.
The route takes you past five of the Loire Valley’s famous châteaux, giving you the chance to discover the region’s remarkable history and architecture at your own pace. You’ll also ride through vineyards, forests and rolling countryside, with plenty of time to take in the landscapes that make this area so special.
Evenings are spent in welcoming local hotels and guesthouses, with comfortable accommodation and traditional French food providing a relaxed end to each day. Along the way, you’ll also stop in small villages and local restaurants, giving you a taste of the region beyond its famous castles.
With more time in the saddle, five château visits and the chance to explore the Loire Valley at a more accessible price point, this is a great choice for riders who want to combine plenty of riding with French history, beautiful countryside and local character.
WHY IT’S IMPORTANT TO TALK ABOUT horse care
This might seem a bit self explanatory but it’s the unfortunate truth that there are operators out there who do not take the necessary care of their working horses, treat them with the respect they deserve and there’s unfortunately a small pool of agents who value money and an expanse of holiday options over the welfare of horses.
That’s why we wanted to be as transparent as possible about how each operator we work with takes care of their horses so you can be confident that when you book a riding trip through Wild Mane, you’ll be riding with an operator who values their horses above all else.
It’s important that horses have time to live out as naturally as possible, are kept in groups allowing them time to socialise, have plenty of breaks between riding tours and are given the necessary vet care and check ups that they require.

I was inspired to start Wild Mane after a riding holiday in Iceland in 2022 & 2023 (it was so good I went back to do it again) that changed my life and the way I want to travel the world. There is nothing better than experiencing the views and culture of a country through a set of ears.
But travel isn’t always easy and planning takes a lot of time which is why at Wild Mane, we take care of that for you.
